Default VHT Niteshade

For all my fellow black 370z owners.... Has anyone used VHT Niteshade to paint their taillights? If so, could u post up pics? Where I'm at in Florida I can only find people who tint taillights so I had a guy tint mine but it's not as dark as I would like and it doesn't have that glossy look that I want. I want my taillights to have the same color and glossy finish of my car. Not really concerned with the legality of the taillights as I've never had a problem with this in Florida with other vehicles. Also, if you have done this yourself, is it something to bs attempted by an amateur such as myself? Really concerned about messing these up. Any help/advice you guys have is much appreciated. Thanks!

If you don't like how dark it ended up why not take it back and ask for it to be darker they just didn't put enough coats on it. usually people don't want it to be completely black. if you don't have the funds you can just add some coats of night shade i would sand in between coats and polish well after your last coat so it looks real glossy and your less likely to end up with orange peel if you sand in between coats you can youtube this im sure there is many videos on this subject.

My taillights currently are tinted with a vinyl 3M tint, as no one in my area tints with the Niteshade spray. I could have them put on another layer, bit I dont like the lack of glossiness(sp?) that the tint has versus the Niteshade spray. Still in for any pics and tips anyone has. Thanks!

Here's some pics of mine I did with the VHT Nightshades. Just take your time and make sure you apply even coats. But I now had them done by my bodyshop. I liked both but having them done professional is the best way. It's pretty cheap to have them done.

No I didn't. That's why it's more of matte look.

I didn't think you could tint them. Does tint really form around all the angles without buckling or creasing?

I did mine with 1-2 coats of plasti-dip. I know you are thinking I am crazy, but it lasts long & gives me exactly the "matte" look that i want.

I like it..

Yeah they can tint them... They use an adhesive 3M fil. Not the same film necessarily that thy do for windows..... If you have a good installer, they can use the heat gun to make it form around the edges well. It's actually pretty cool stuff. It just has more of a matte finish than I would like to see

It takes about 5 minutes to pull out your tail lights. Any paint shop can mix up a batch of candy black and spray them. Have them add coats until it gets to the darkness your after. Nightshade sucks unless you take the time to wet sand a clear over it.

Maybe they give out of state people trouble but I have never had any.

You can see the lights fine during the day, they are very bright. Mine are probably a shade or two lighter than the MBlack.
