Evo-R side blades problem

Today was the 3rd day I installed the side blades. While I was getting my car waxed, the side blades just dropped...seems like the screws that came with it didn't stick at all. Anybody had this problem?

ya, the screws are a back up any ways the 3m should be the main source of adhesion. Probably means you did not clean the surfaces well enough before applying the double sided tape. Had this happen to me, so i made sure to clean everthing really well the second time and still solid like a rock now.

What kind of 3m tape do u use? I searched and they give me soo much different kind, I want to get the strongest hold.

Try looking for 3M VHB tape its probably one of the strongest tapes

I'll try to see if I can get bigger screws for these.

Get better tape and solid grip screws. They usually stay secure if properly installed -- no offense.

If you use these pads before you put on the tape you won't even need the screws.

3M VHB is definitely the way to go. The screws really need to be looked at as more of a safety feature than an actual anchor. Be sure to clean the surfaces thoroughly before applying the tape.

Thanks for all the help guys, happy thanksgiving Z lovers

Jay told me no tape - screws only. Uh. Don't think they'd go 5 miles like that. I put *some* tape on mine + the screws. This winter I'm going to pull them off and redo them by taking off the current tape, marking the edge that goes under the rocker and then laying down a bunch of tape anywhere it will make contact underneath. I used the 3M tape the first time, but I think I'm going to go to a thin tape. I've got some stuff we use in the engraving business that will hold anything. I think one of the issues is that padded tape allows the wind to flex them a bit and work them lose.

Sorry to jack the thread.

So, is the adhesion promoter simply a cleaning pad?

It is a small sponge with the adhesion promoter already on it.
