only problem with me is that i cant get the stock shiftknob off

Some are harder to get off than others. If you really want to get it off, pop the shifter ring off and clamp down on the shifter stalk under the knob with some pliars or some vice grips to prevent overtorquing the linkage to the tranny (you want to keep it straight as you torque the knob).
You can use an oil filter wrench or pliars, whatever to get the knob off, but just understand that the harder it is to get off, the more likely you are to damage the stock knob. There are people that have had to completely destroy the stock knob to get it off. best of luck. |
