I'm not an Apple fan (at all), but their latest iMac and Macbook Pros are very impressive. |

Personally ... I'm a 100% Google supporter, so I'm right there with ya  Ditched iTunes and only use the Play network. So likewise ... If I got a iPad Mini, it would make a good paperweight ... that's all. |

Not a big deal. Droid platform vs IOS, whatever. Both *nix based technologies that work generally well.
Comes down to arbitrary personal preference. Doesn't really matter. If find it more funny that folks make such zealous arguments for or against. Tapatalk & such etc |

Premium is earned because of the reliability, performance and easy of use. Not to mention the best in class material build quality. Even while the processors may seem slower based on GHz, when real world tested (check out Engadget) they always perform better than equivalent or higher powered PC devices. If you are specifically talking about desktop computers / laptops then the other reason Macs earn some more Kudos is due to the fact they come with better software out of the box and iWork is $29 where as the Office Suite is $199 for the base version. PCs have lots of add-ons/options that quickly elevate the price. And all the Mac software is cross-compatible and arguably better than the microsoft equivalent, EXECPT for Numbers. Excel is far superior. That's why it's worth a premium to me. |
I think I'm going to get the iPad mini, its basically an iPad for 65% the price. The same resolution, so all you lose in 2", which i don't really care about.
When it comes to which tablet to buy, Engadget made it clear when they said the iPad was so far the best tablet that it doesn't even have any real competition. The geek bench scores of the iPad blow away the competition by a huge margin, the resolution is also way, way, beyond the comp. As usual, the build quality is far superior. Nobody can post a Apple topic without the haters rolling in, complaining about everything |
I am going to source this as my option. You can see a few weeks back I started digging around to have a tablet run my car audio/visual/nav. During my searching I found out that this was coming out soon.
We purchsed the first itouch and ipad and still use them to this day. Friends/Family have purchased the newer ones and they are not that much better. I wont be upset if a year from now one with a few better options comes out. After all that is the tech game. If everything came out perfect we would get bored and strive for nothing! Who cares if they already have a better screen waiting for next year to launch? If you want it that bad you will wait, or end up buying both. Back to what I started in with. I hope this meets what I was looking for in a mini tablet to run my car audio/visual! |
I am getting the iPad mini for myself. I got the Ipad 3 for my wife and she loves it. We are both Apple junkies. We own iPods, Mac Pros, iPhones 2,3,4 and 5, iPads. I love how all these gadgets integrate with one another. We have built a pretty large ecosystem withing all these different gadgets so for us, it would not make sense to ever switch to another platform and build our ecosystem up again. We are tied to Apple for life! LOLOL
When the Apple TV hits the market, we will also get it and then I'll give away my Samsung TV =P |
For the peeps in Ca., y'all need to check out this guy and his shop if you are into having an iPad control your audio system...
Soundman Car Audio - Home of the iPad Car Install I was thinking about asking him about the iPad mini since he already installs iPads. I have heard a rumor that if you send him your radio dash piece he will customize it to house the iPad/iPad mini. I have not heard of a price yet. Post on here if anyone talks with them. |
