Saw this on another forum:

Probably a good idea to make sure you don't get ripped off and buy from an authorized bride store.

If I got ripped off from Bride seats the seller would not live to see another day. :usa:

Thanks for the post up! What forum did you find this on? Did they have guides to spot fake Zeta IIIs or other Bride models as well? One of my buddies recently god scammed on a set of the reclinables.

And here I was thinking this was a thread about importing wimenz.

Supergoji 07-09-2009 01:22 AM

just so everyone knows, most of the gias seats on ebay are fake.

Interesting thread. I know nothing aout Bride seats. Makes me think they must be overpriced though. The things that get knockoffs made of them are items that are cheap to produce, but uncompetitively priced on the open market. Usually with price fixing agreements with "authorized" retailers to prevent them from pricing the item competitively.

Sorry I don't know if it's just me but things priced high generally have a better quality about them. For example, watches, I would much rather pay for the in house movement of a Panerai than a replica that will lose time and not be the quality of the real, same goes with clothes. This is just my opinion though.

The_Zed_car 07-10-2009 04:42 PM

I saw this on evolution M i believe it was.

Companies that can make their products meet the FIA standards usually have the tooling, and resources to make quality products.

But hey, if you want to use Recaro SPG knockoffs or Zeta III knockoffs and pray they survive in a crash, be my guest.

Good point. Sorry some people in here don't understand ur point fully.
I don't think u wanna buy knock offs? I just think you are stating that
The monopoly effect of these companies charge super high prices for
Goods that are way beyond r&d. Licensing distribution and reasonable
Profit. And u r right.
But they do bring one valid point. You can almost certainly count on
Quality.
And I say almost cuz our domestic goods also have a high recall rate.
Think baby car seats. Lol.

If the knock-offs were of equal quality I might agree, but the images at the top of the thread clearly point out that they are not. The knock-offs are using steel plates where the original uses aluminum to shed weight, and they're not embossing the indentation where the adjustment knob goes to keep it more compact. Even if they were perfect knock-offs functionality-wise and the originals were overpriced, taking the brand name is always a no-no to me. They're putting a faked Bride logo all over the surface of that knockoff seat. They could at least own up and put their own company name on it and just steal the design :P

What about these??

BRIDE GIAS GRADIATION LowMax JDM Seat TOYOTA NISSAN: eBay Motors (item 300409741618 end time Aug-18-10 20:01:44 PDT)

Are they quality enough to replace the OEM?

Stealth_Z 07-30-2010 03:25 PM

this is why I buy my JDM stuff @ more-japan.com ... they are one of the official importer of Bride. And I believe they are part of Tanabe or something.
