Ive seen a set from taiwan and they are very good looking. Using all the same quality parts. Im just saying, just because it says japan on it dont always assume its made there. Bride japan may be sourcing parts and pieces from someone else. You never really know....

Fabric may be different of course but! ive compared bothe seats and there the exact same lol. From what i heard someone who worked at Bride Japan left and obviously knows how there made, took that info to taiwan and makes them there.

If the Taiwan Bride seats start getting FIA approval and other ratings then they might be up to par, but not having that safety standard is a huge issue.

True, but the question is will the replica survive the crash. The harness will hold you but if the seat folds under the pressure or cracks and bends then it does you no good.

If you're tracking your car, in which accident MAY happen, would you rather spend the extra money on a tested authentic seat and have a peace of mind, or would you rather save that couple hundred dollars by buying a replica one, and risk it?
I'm not saying that replica seats are bad or unsafe, but when it comes to safety, its better to trust a tested source, in this case, the Authentic ones approved by FIA. We're talking about lives here people. Of course, each to their own. If you're willing to "risk" it, go ahead and get a replica. But if something did happen, and if the replica seats did crack/break/snap and somewhat damaged your body, don't complain.

I'd honestly be much more worried about a replica seat in a street car. At the track, everyone is aware of each other. Medical personnel are on site, ready to react.
On the street, everyone is on their phone, stuffing McNuggets in their gullet, fiddling with their iPod trying to find the latest T Pain single, and there's very rarely any medical professionals present when an accident happens. Seats are not a performance part, they're not an aesthetics part, they're a SAFETY PART. Whether it's a track car, show car, or street car, seats are designed to keep you in place during an accident. If you must buy an aftermarket seat that is not FIA certified, at least buy one from a company who makes FIA seats. At least then you know that company knows how to make a quality seat. Oh, and at least have the courtesy of informing friends/family/potential dates that you took out perfectly functioning safety items and replaced them with a product that hasn't been tested and is manufactured to questionable standards. I'm sure they'll still think your mad tyte JDM seats are still sweet, and they'll love to jump right in your car. Status Racing makes some awesome seats for the price, including some FIA certified stuff. You can even configure your own seat to look exactly as you want it. You can even watch the Status Racing FIA certification videos on their website!
