I got Dr. colorchip to fix cuz it bothers me even though you cant see it from above. well se how it goes, I will let you know the results. I thought it be good practice for me for when I have to fix a chip or scratch on the body that is visible. |

I bought it for two chips on the front bumber and it worked just ok, however they sent me a note saying that it doesn't work as well with yellow because it is so translucent. They gave me a white base paint to put on first, but that made the whole deal just like using touch up paint.

i have it but to cover up scratches is pretty tough because you have to put on multiple coats and it's pretty time consuming.

Dr. colorchip ^^ once the scratch or scuff digs into the metal or primer, not much you can do besides touch up paint, or dealer can airbrush it.
but for clear coat scratches, buffing is the way to go for best result, takes some time and how to's |

Be very careful trying to polish out scratches. If you can feel them with your finger nail, they will not come out completely. And if some ones says they ca do it don't let them because they will take most of your clear in the process. Also, any time you are polishing out a scratch you should measure the paint first and during the polishing process to ensure you only remove 0.5 mills or less. If you take off more than that you will most likely have premature paint failure.

i used it to fill in the front bumper area where the dealer drilled in too deep and the license plate frame scratched away the paint. filled it in nicely, no issues, and you can't even tell it's touch up paint.
i recommend it. |

IMO, it's a great simple system for fixing paint chips. I've had good results with the kit.
I have a couple I need to take care of - i'll try to take some before/after pictures. |
