Hydro Dipping

EDIT: I might have been slightly drunk while typing the title... Hydro Dipping

Anyone ever heard of it? Looks awesome but curious how it holds up:

Very Interesting

Ask you said, I wonder how it holds up to heat, grease and other elements such as washing etc etc.

I'm definatley going to research this further. Nice find:tup:

They apply it to firearms, should hold up nicely

My friend works for Shelby here in Vegas and they use it. I saw a couple of parts they did on a gti and it looked perfect. Like anything else that you do it's not cheap though.

I seen this at a booth at Sema, it looks very impressive and would be perfect for trim in vehicles and whatnot as well has helmets, guns.. basically whatever.

Yea, I was hoping pricing was better but I wasn't holding my breath.

My brother does water transfers for car parts. Holds up fine to heat.

If anyone is interested I can get an estimate. Normally he buys valvecovers and preps/paints them then sells on forums. He's also done turbo piping and other odds and ends. Mostly woodgrain but also camo etc.

Had it done on some interior parts for my Z32, quality is top notch.
Only problem is had to ship my parts out to the East coast and wait LONG times to get it completed.

Almost not worth the hassle for West Coast people.

Wasn't this what they showed on OCC?

Read T 10-24-2012 02:49 PM

the process itself only takes a few hours (depending on amount of prep needed), shipping is probably most of the waiting.

turbo intercooler piping done in that $100 bills theme would be fitting. haha

TenaciousZ 10-24-2012 05:00 PM

From what I understand you can clear coat right over this stuff like any other paint. So it will hold up just like any other paint job would.
