Car Cover
I'm looking to buy a car cover as I park my car outside my apartment building and I'm sick of seeing how dirty it can get overnight.
Do you guys suggest buying one from Nissan or is there even a Nissan branded car cover for the 370? I know there are other companies that make them, but I've seen pics of some with the "Z" logo on it. Can you buy these from the dealer? |
you can always get this! hahahahahhaha

Yes, you can buy them from the dealer. I ordered a indoor/outdoor for $200.00 from the dealer.Attachment 2836
Maybe it was $225.00, either way it was $25.00 above their cost. I have a garage, but with two slobbering a#% bloodhounds and lawncare equipment going in and out everyday i'm trying to minimize the dust and the chance of some other type of damage. |
you're going to swirl your finish each time the cover is on it if your car is not completely clean.
i'd say if your apartment has garages available to its tenants get one or just leave it be. |
The problem with a cover is that it will actually trap particles under it and when the wind blows you stand a good chance to get scratches rather than the dirt just blowing off
|
there will still be wind and thereby debris flowing through the cover. typically car covers are designed for garaged cars. no wind or elements, just protection from dust and direct contact.
Green had the right idea with the "touchless" car cover. that would be the best of both worlds. protection from the sun and other direct contact, but not trapping the dust and other particles against the paint. |
when you say touchless are you referring to the bubble? if so you put moisture eaters inside the bubble to rid moisture.
the main purpose people use outdoor covers is protection from UV, dead leaves/sap, bird crap. not so much light scratches/swirls. i use a dust cover on my G when hibernating inside my garage. main purpose is to prevent spiders and bugs from residing in the side mirrors and other nooks/crannies. :D hahahaha. and not being exposed to salt dust/oily residue when the garage is open. |
Nissans' cover seems the best fit, cut outs for mirrors, etc., even though it's actually designed for the 350, as evidenced by the antenna sleeve.
Waterproof, and stays on in the wind. Costs a bit more than the rest, though. |
yah, courtesynissan has dust covers specifically for the 370Z, i thinks. i might get one.
|
Covercraft has custom fit covers for the Z as well, even get to specify if you have the sports package so you get a cutout for the wing.
I'm getting the indoor one C17117TF but they have good outdoor ones as well, but they cost a little more. |

I am about to buy a 40th, and have no garage. Should I buy a car cover?
|
I would think the positives far outweigh the negatives right?
