Nissan Paint Quality?

I had some blemishes in my paint that were taken care of with wetsanding. I do believe that the paint quality is not what I expected from Nissan.

thanks for the insight everyone.

it seems like the general opinion is that Nissan paint quality is a little below standard, but not really a reason not to buy the new Z.

We had our house painted 5 years ago and when we went to get the paint matched for some touch up work the guy at the paint place said it would be hard to match because govt regulations have changed how they make the paint. The guy started ripping the govt and when I told him i hate obama he got happy and said he would work with the paint until he got it matched perfectly. took him about 30 minutes.

I know NOTHING about paint so I am just passing this story along, not verifying it.
All paint is like that now. For the most part it is sprayed too thin and it doesn't have a chance to flow and level. They could put a little extra on then wet sand it level but that doesn't seem to happen.

As far as the stains are concerned, regular cleaning should take care of it. If you leave your paint dirty too long you will have major problems. Wet sanding is usually not needed and only a last resort. A simple light polish or compound usually gets out most blemishes.
