I would keep trying to email him....might be harder to get in touch with him because of the holidays. I mostly contacted him through email but I think I talked to him on the phone too and even on Gmail's IM service.

Wedge engineering brackets. They sit high (higher than stock) just like the planted ones but as least they are straight and level.

Its the angle of the camera and slack in the harness straps making it look like that. I've seen requirements regarding angle aspect in regards to the shoulder straps, but not length....anyone have more info on that? I don't think a few inches in length would make a difference as long as the harnesses are tightened properly when worn and take out all the slack.

I've got the wedge engineering brackets. They don't really sit much higher, they are just the height of the bar stock, but they do sit up higher than I would like. I think bottom mounted seats instead of side are the only real option. I had to basically drill new holes in my side brackets and put the seat down on the rail to get them low enough.

Mike, not a bad idea drilling new holes in the side mount brackets, with my status side mount brackets and the wedge base, the seats in their lowest position are quite a bit higher than the stock sitting position. Definitely not ideal.

angle should be 90 degrees to your spine at your shoulders..

figure even good webbing can stretch up to 20%..

Found some good info from Schroth on harness mounting specifics:

As far as shoulder harness angles, downward up to 20 degrees is okay.

For distance from seat back to shoulder harness points: Webbing should be crossed if the distance from the seat openings to the mounting bolt point or harness bar exceeds 450 mm (18”).

When mounting to a harness bar with a wrap mount and the distance to the bar from the seat is less than 450 mm (18”), a section of roll bar padding, fixed with cable ties, should be added to the outside of each of the shoulder harnesses to ensure that they can not further separate when unloaded.

So maybe I'm just overly cautious when it come to removing interior components but is there a DIY or pictures of the remaining panels that need to be removed that aren't covered in the Z1 thread on interior removal?

The only DIY I have seen doesn't have pictures anymore. I am at the same stage in my interior uninstall and I believe that you have to remove the upper seat belt points to remove the upper interior panels so that you can remove all of the other panels. I haven't done it yet completely so maybe someone else can chime in.
