I just received mine in the mail today, but they look like they were a used piece or something because they had this yellow Evo-R sticker:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K...25281%2529.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-p...25282%2529.JPG I definitely did not want this yellow sticker on my Pearl White Z because it did not match with anything on it....my attempt to take the sticker off resulted in this: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-i...25289%2529.JPG I definitely would like a partial refund or something for this problem. No one should have to buy these mirrors, receive them with a yellow sticker which is only on one side, have to take it off and then be left with a messed up paint job which I will have to correct. Other than that, I have no other problems with these mirrors. I don't have a scale so I don't have the exact weight measurements, but I can definitely say that these are not heavier than the originals, but are not a dramatic weight saving piece. If you want to lighten your car, there are much more effective ways than changing mirrors. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c...25283%2529.JPG Install was simple and took less than an hour for both sides. Take out these three screws/bolts and then just pull/pop the door panel off. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-D...25285%2529.JPG https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-C...25286%2529.JPG With the door panel out of the way, you can just pop the plastic triangle piece from the inside/backside of the mirror, unplug the mirror, take off the three nuts holding the mirror, and then remove it. At this point, you'll want to clean up the black residue from the bottom of where the stock mirror was. If you clean it good enough you can choose to use the black sticker which is provided to cover up that spot or not. After that, then you can place the new mirror in and screw the three screws in. Be careful putting these screws in and do not force them when turning/screwing them in. The metal is soft and can the threads can be stripped if you're not careful. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-n...25287%2529.JPG If yours doesn't come with the sticker, then you don't have to repaint/repair the paint damage from peeling the sticker off :P Just need to adjust the mirrors and tighten them down. Hope this helps people a little. |
EVO-R =
|
what about the convex mirror, how does it look? Can you take a pic from inside the car?
Thanks! |
hope they all don't come with stickers?
|
 not cool about the stickers and scratches. They look nice though.
|
i really hope mine dont come with those stickers... grr
|
FireDan50, thanks for the write up. Remember when you bought yours it is a sample from SEMA show. It is not part of this group buy. As for new shipments EVO-R sticker will not be on the mirror. FireDan50 I'll be glad to give you some partial refund to have those painted again.

I'll take more pics from angles in the car as soon as the weather is better here. As far as them being convex, mine appear to be normal/flat, maybe due to mine being pre-production/pre-group buy? |
Yea, if you just look at it by its surface is flat. But once on, look at your side rear view it is alot more you can see than stock. Consider it is a smaller mirror. PM me your info again. I'll sent you some refund for the paint issue.
|
After taking a better look at the mirrors in the sunlight and driving with them, I can say that I am happy with them and that I like how they look. They do have a slight convex and are not flat like how I previously thought. Its not an extreme convex and does not distort objects, but does give a decent view of the rear for being so much smaller. I like how I can see a lot more looking towards the sides too.
Also, this is not the first time I've done business with J (Evo-R). I think he has good customer service and even refunded me a portion of my payment back as I requested. I also have the Evo-R carbon front upper trim, carbon front fang cover, carbon door handle covers, and carbon rear diffuser. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9...00/Mirror1.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q...00/Mirror2.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-X...00/Mirror3.jpg |
