My rims? POLL need opinions...

Alright hey everyone... i just wanted everyones opinion... so now that i have the whole matte black theme going on the rims of my z look ridiculously brite....

So im thinking of painting them matte black and have a red pinstripe go accross the out lip... and rock red tuner extended lug nuts to finish off the look..... i would do powdercoating but i dont know anyone on the island that does powdercoating here... :shakes head:

tell me wat u guys think....

I'm pretty sure someone named Mike does powercoating here I don't personally know him but his rims look great. I'm pretty sure his names Mike not positive.

Powdercoating Mike is in Georgia I believe, not gonna help in Guam. Do you get the Rays wheels in Guam? I know australia doesn't. Might be worth seeing if someone that has pulled their Rays wheels off for aftermarket would sell you their stock ones and have them coated for you.

Or you can go aftermarket and get Mike at DoubleDown Motorsports to hook you up with some Black (piano or matte) F14's with a red time-attack stripe. Those would look fantastic on your car.

^^^ second that... Buy the f14s from Mike for like $1,500 or whatever it is and sell your OEM rims for probably just as much. Then you have the wheels you want and you're not out any bucks.

yeah, Guam is pretty far. I do everything mail order, and have done stuff for customers in Dubai, Europe, Hawaii and Alaska, but it would take several weeks sending wheels back and forth. My friend painted the wheels on his Carrera C4S with a ceramic spray paint that he then baked on a low temp in his kitchen oven for a little extra cure, and they are holding up great for him.

Caravanshaka 06-26-2009 09:07 AM

lol, you have a friend that used spray paint when you have a powdercoating business? I hope it was before you started doing powdercoating :)

Also, dupli-color makes a wheel specific paint that I have heard is pretty good. I personally refinished some 2004 350z wheels with the gun-metal color to sell them and they turned out pretty good for a spray-can job. I dunno if I would use that on my Rays wheels, but for your 18's I wouldn't be as scared.

simota1 06-26-2009 09:09 AM

hey thanks everyone for ur replys... dood those f14's are like sex dammmmm i want those rims!!!!!

Can someone please do a chop? and make my rims matte black looking... b4 i go and just do it and it might look ugly? the F14s matte black are what im gonna shoot for next... but for now... i want a damper kit from bc racing... and a mines spoiler add on... so the rims have to wait... :shakes head: i have to make do with my rims right now... for a while...

nogoodname 06-26-2009 09:43 AM

those tuner lugs will not work....only the stock lugs will work on the stock rim.

get the F14's and put the lugs you want

here's a pic of what happens when you put different lugs on a stock rim
