Alright guys one more photochop b4 i do it just to make sure k? can u guys please ps this pic to look like my stock rims are matte black and have a red pinstrip around the rim and my door handles are also matte black and drop my z a lil lower... this is what i hopefully want my z to look like... someone please help me ps... |

Do you have a side profile shot that's more in focus? I cant do any PS stuff to late late late tonight at the earliest.

Simota, aren't you the guy that was brave enough to tackle blacking out your own headlights?
If you can accomplish that then I don't think you would have any problem spraying your own wheels. I'm sure there is a paint out there that can hold up well, and if you screw them up, or it doesn't hold up I bet you could get a used set of stock rims for the same price as a powdercoat job.

powdercoating is about $400 for a set of wheels. The used 18's have been on ebay for around 1k, I think 600-800 is a fair price for them. Powdercoating is far superior to painting for the finish. Paint will chip with normal driving where powdercoating can take that abuse.
of course, a powdercoater is going to fully strip the wheels finish before they coat, so trying it on your own first will only cost you the time and materials since you can just bring it to the powdercoater if you aren't happy with the finish. |
