Evo-R side blades

Hi everyone!

I have a question about the installation.

I need confirmation of whether or not you HAVE to remove the front splash guards to mount the blades? I have seen pictures in the forums of the splash guards installed with the blades but there have been few and far between. Of course the most common way I have seen pictures are with the splash guards removed.

If you can install the blades with the splash guards, can you let me know how you achieved it?

I have the item on check out and I am just pending confirmation so I can "click to purchase"

Your help is greatly apprecaited

I believe the fronts can stay installed but i'm not certain about the rear. Also sent you a PM.

when i had the blades i had to part out the splash guards...

maybe they trimmed it? but even so IMHO i think itll look cleaner with out the splash guards

I dont think you have to remove the front splash guards. I opted removing mine and it looks way better. Otherwise if left on, I think it would ruin the flow. Just my opinion though.

You have to remove the front. If you think you have to remove the rear...you're installing them wrong.

I am wondering the same thing. I want it to look something like this with the mudflap

Rather than this, which looks like it's missing something without the front mudflap.. just my personal opinion though

I'm picking up my Evo R sideblades and going to get it installed the next few days, hopefully the shop I get it done at can find a way to install it without removing the mudflap

i take it back.. looks really nice with the flap... plus im sure itll help with the rocks... those blades pick up rocks and dirt soo fast... i had to clean mine almost everyday

i wish i known about the flap i woulda kept mine

I agree that it looks better with the front flap. I should have done that when I ran mine. Ah well, live and learn.

Thank you for posting the comparison pictures. I personally love the blades with the front splash guards installed which is how i want for it to look like. I am purchasing them and I hope the material is easy to work with because I WILL find a way to make it work.

I held mine up with the front ones on & there was no way of getting them to clear. You would have to shorten either the blades or the flaps. I forget exactly, but I'm guessing maybe 1.5" -2" too long with them in place.

The flaps in the first photo don't appear to be stock flaps anyway - looks like they come up a lot higher.

Are the blades hollow? If you cut and shave a portion off it would it be solid or show the hollow parts?

They're not hollow- they're just one piece of plastic that's kind of reinforced in certain places across the length of the skirt.

If you cut it in half, you would just see a piece of plastic about 1/4'' thick shaped kind of like /''''''''\
