Car looks OK...just OK. I dont really like cf that much. I wouldve gone with a doo doo brown vinyl wrap instead.

The car looks sick! Great job. Can't wait to see how it looks when it's all done.

How much weight does all this CF take off overall?

Happy to see someone keeping the CF and red Z combo alive. The hatch can be replaced with a CF part its the rear quarter that will be the issue. You can't simply vinyl it because most vinyl is matte whereas the rest of the parts are gloss. Vinyl also lacks the depth and "3D effect" of real CF. Its a pretty tight seam with the rear bumper but a cap seems to be the best way to go, something similar to the roof cap.

The real question is always weight savings. I grudgingly admit after doing this myself, you don't save a whole lot. You'll save mostly on the hatch, a little on the doors and fenders (less than 5lbs. each door/fender) but the bumpers and skirts are plastic. If you love the look then this look is for you.

Mind you, it is still a noticeable weight difference, best bang for the buck weight reducing mod is a braille battery.

No idea on weight. The interior is all wrapped and the exterior stock stuff was light, not sure if you have every weighed the stock panels but they are pretty light.

And when im on a diet weight reduction is more lol

I know the quarter cant be wrapped ;) I posted my plans for the quarter. Fiberglass mold that will be made on the car and then removed. Then making that mold carbon fiber and applying it back on the car. It will be more of an over but THAT IS ALL THAT CAN BE DONE lol ive looked into removal and etc. Quarter panel is part of the frame. Its tricky

The hatch and doors are product I COULD purchase from Seibon but unfortunately we had a dispute about an order and I decided to cancel the order and take my business else where. I will have those taken care of though, no worries ;) The roof was a big challenge but thats carbon fiber so anything is possible. Just give it time :)

FYI the roof is NOT A CAP... :) we removed the windshield and rear hatch to have the carbon fiber work done to it

lol not quite we wrapped it which was the plan with the quarter panels but the panels cant be removed so thats the issue.

That would be badass and save alot of work but I dont want to risk damaging the cars structure.

NYBladeZ 08-17-2012 01:21 PM

you seem better suited for the task then I was, godspeed dude
