Carbon fiber doors
There might not be time to do any more in the next 2 weeks then we already have planned to do but who would be interested in carbon fiber doors? If we don’t have time to make them with in the next 2 weeks while bullittes car is here then we can always make them in the following weeks to come after bullitt takes his car back.
Start a list! These can be carbon fiber with fiberglass reinforcement or full carbon fiber. Both would weigh allot less than dealer made. But if we can find the help we are looking for (trying to higher 1 or 2 more guys) Then we should have time to get a mold done. P.S these can be painted. Maybe not by us depending on how busy we are but they will be able to be painted if anybody does not like the look of CF but likes the idea of a huge amount of weight reduction. |

I am definitely interested . It would be important to me, though, that the internal plastic panels could be re-attached, so one could actually have a carbon door painted the same color as the car, and with the inside looking stock, meaning, no one would know but me and my bank account .

I can't do it because of the restrictions of my time attack race class, but I am all for the idea! Like Miguez mentioned though, it would have to be able to retain the use of all of the stock interior panels, door handle, and windows.

dont forget possible legal issues if someone gets in a wreck and dies....doesnt matter if you have them sign a wavier or whatever, their family can still come after your house, and, on occasion, win....just fyi

Hmm I never herd of that because those are modifications the buyer purchases knowing the possible issues if there were to be an accident. Also all these products that will be on our website when its up states that this is a product designed to be on the track only and should not be for street use (like all products that are sold by all companies) hoods, hatches, fenders, etc.
Its a suggestion the company makes and the driver has to decide. But I am glad somebody has mentioned that so I can ask my lawyer to look into it for us just incase. |

P.S If there is enough interest we will be building these doors like no other carbon fiber doors. They will have carbon fiber reinforcements on the inside that would mimic the inner frame of the OEM doors. Also the inner frame would be several layers of carbon fiber which would match the strength of the steel ones.
If these are made right they will be just as strong and safe as the OEM ones. Dozens of cars used to be 100% fiberglass back in the dday and were just as safe as the sheet metal ones we have today. Our goal would just be to create them stronger and lighter. If these are goign to be unsafe then we wont produce them. |

John, I think this will garner interest once people have finished other mods to their cars. I would certainly look into this at a later time.
I would be curious right off to know: How much weight this would shed. Nissan made an effort to make the 370Z doors lighter than the 350Z, so what are the true weight savings? If it is a nice loss, I am sure people would jump on. |
