Question on front lip installations

I noticed that most front lip installs whether carbon, FRP, or plain poly u are mounted using brackets and self tapping screws on the bottoms, self tapping screws on the inside of the fenders, and 3M heavy duty mounting tape on the front edges. My question: How does it hold up? A body shop that I took the lip to for painting and install was hesitant in installing it saying it would not stay secured enough considering how low the car already is (stock height) and the mounting options. They are saying that the mounting tape and stock brackets that came with the lip is not enough and need to be modified. I have springs ready to be installed next week.

So now I am concerned regardless of who installs it. Will this stay securely. I don't drive like a maniac on driveways and pretty careful in getting in driveways at an angle. Your feedback and suggestions appreciated.

I had the EVO lip on mine which had the self tapping screws/tape. I put a bit of glue on the screws just to make sure they would not back out. The tape held on fine with no issues with the lip coming loose or anything else.

Make sure when you put the double sided tape on that you clean the lip and the area you are going to attach it to.

Forget about the self taping screws. Use your logic, it will not hold up. Instead do all the things Kenchan mentioned. Otherwise, you risk having your lip fly off in highway speeds. How embarrasing would that be but more importantly how dangerous would that be?

Thanks guys, I'm taking the bumper off and install it using bolts, speed nuts, and lots of high quality tape. Doing it the right way for safety and peace of mind.

I'm using self taping screws and 3m tape on my CF side skirts, been a few months but I've been meaning to get under there and check on them since I did it myself lol.

On front lip, I'd go with Kenchan's suggestion for sure although I think if you use some self taping and maybe a few bolts for safety you'll be ok but at the end of the day...overkill is better!
