What do you guys use to renew the black luster on them? I noticed mine are fading big time.

I used Back to Black on my previous cars.
I haven't tried it personally but I've heard good things about Black WOW too. You can somewhat prevent fading by sealing your exterior trim pieces with something like Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. Last edited by w0rM; 07-21-2012 at 11:01 PM. |

Yeah, it really doesn't leave any kind of residue. My only complaint about Back to Black is that it doesn't last through more than one or two rain showers/washings. So, you have to apply it fairly frequently. I don't believe it has any UV protection either. I'd absolutely invest in a good sealant if you want to maintain that new look.

I am a big fan of back to black on past cars, but it left weird "oily" splotches on my 370z's side view mirror trim. Has never done it before. I won't be using it again on my Z. Great on my 240 though.

You have to make sure you're applying it correctly. You should be using a MF towel to apply it, then a clean and dry MF towel to buff it after a couple of minutes. It's very similar to applying a wax. If you run your finger across it after you're done and it feels oily, you didn't buff it well enough.
With that said, Back to Black is the discount store brand. If you're serious about doing it right, buy the good stuff. Like anything, you get what you pay for. |

Hands down, the best product I've found for black trim:
Black WOW Exterior Trim Restorer, black trim dressing, restore black rubber trim, Mini trim
