who else has a saggy stillen front lip?

Mine cracked after 8 months of normal driving granted that I lightly bumped into the curb while parking a couple of times.

Just went in the shop and looked at mine (not mounted yet). It would be pretty easy to pop an 18" piece of aluminum bar stock in there to support it and either glass it in or just epoxy it. Something thin just to give it some rigidity without adding much weight. And if you made it long enough to get back to where it starts to taper, I don't think it would be an issue. Heck, even something like a couple of 1/4" diameter fiberglass poles might work. Like you had on your bike flag growing up?

I am sure they only had the splitter installed with the darn self tapping screws. Is really not their fault either, they just went along with the instructions they were provided and trusted the vendor.

mine had like 15 extra screws in it. It was starting to sag too though. I once left it overnight with something under it to force it up for a long time and it helped. Might be something to look at for some of you guys.

Mine did that after a few months of driving. Oddly enough, after the first 2 got smashed to pieces, I painted it. The painted lip never did sag.

I had one attached with a ton of bolts and this is what happened...

The parts that were bolted on stayed on... problem was that everything else broke off.

I just recently installed the Stillen splitter on my car and it looks great. After reading this thread I am a bit concerned as well, and may question other products Stillen puts out... I am in the market for CBE or HFC. Was looking at Stillen, but may hold off depending on how they handle this issue...

Stillen should be able to do a redesign to resolve this issue as long as info is getting back to them.

I dont have the lip so am only going by the pictures here but is this something that cam be solved by inserting a piece of alumimum angle bar like someone mentioned but then instead of glassing it in just fill the space inside with high density expandable foam? This would need to be done before it warps if it is even an option.

Talked to stillen and they said i would need to send my lip back in so they could look at it. since my lip recently went back on the car, and i don't have the original box, thats kinda out for the next lil while.

however, if anyone has one they are willing to take off/ if anyone has a way to get one of these lips to stillen they said they are willing to look into it.

who has taken one of these off and is willing to ship it to stillen?

Thank you for following up Edub. You put the lip back on? Meaning you fixed the lip yourself? If so, what did you do? Care to explain?
Also, when you say, Stillen "will look into it" will they not replace the part? I thought they had a lifetime warranty for this part should it fail. (I would think warping) falls into this catagory.

Like I said before, use screws with washers and nuts and I don't think you'll have any problems. I'm at eight months and counting with no problems.

Took it off and used bolts and washers as described. worked well. stillens hardware WILL NOT work. no matter how much u try and do it right, there hardware is not adequate.

stillen said they wanted to examin a warped one to see if it was a flaw in the molding process. they also said they stand behind thier product, and if it did end up being something wrong on their end, that they would replace it.

to mount it correctly, i took the front bumper completely off and used nuts, bolts, and washers. let it sit in my apt over night with 1box of shutgun shells (yeehaw) under the center (warped part) and a box on top of either side of that.. formed it back over night. however, my biggest draw back to sending it, was not having the original box. i have no idea where i would find a box that long and skinny to send it back to them.

has anyone pulled their lip off yet?
