Please PM me when they arrive. I'd like two sets please.

wow, looks like somehow someone took my hardwork CAD design and is making some money off of it.

I wonder how the F#$% did EVO-R got a hold of my CAD model. I only provided it to AGStacker who was supposed to machine me one for providing the CAD model to him. Years later I see this product from someone else trying to make money off of it?

Nissan 370Z Forum - scruffydog's Album: Nissan Z Emblem

Tell me this doesn't look like something I created:

I obviously see the similarity, but I would expect to see that similarity on almost any burger emblem that attempted to swap out the nissan band for the current Z logo. I think it's really the only practical way to do it unless you want to keep the band across the center of the burger and add the logo on top, similar to how you did on some of your other emblem designs.

In all honesty I don't think EVO-R swiped your CAD model. They're not the same though they follow the same aesthetics.

I remember spending a lot of time on the forum researching what others wanted and changed the design, multiple iterations and then had someone prototyped it for me who said would made it into production. But that person apparently got pissed off and got mad at everyone here on the forum. I know a lot of people were super excited about seeing this happen but it looks enough frustrations eventually killed the thread. Whatever, 100% of the idea was mine, the last iteration I made had the edges to be exactly the same as the what I created and I have no doubt EVO-R reached out to that person that gave him the CAD Model. In the end, life is unfair.

If you were to ask anyone, I think that emblem looks 99% like the one I did through CAD.

This is what AGStacker made for his prototype, I sent him a couple of different models and who knows how many people he forwarded it to. This is what he made for himself and never gave me one.

I perused the thread earlier and get the gist of what happened. And I understand your frustration as you obviously spent a lot of time developing the concept. I'm just not convinced that EVO-R didn't come up with the idea independently. As I said before there's really only two logical ways to rework the burger emblems, one being with a Z that spans the circle and another that integrates the Z logo into a strip running across the middle. Without the benefit of this thread (or AGStacker's previous one) if I was to sit down one day blindly and decide to remake my emblems myself it would almost certainly take on one of these two concepts and would most likely end up looking remarkably similar to your designs, though perhaps not quite with your attention to detail.

That is what I ultimately think happened. The design follows your design aesthetic but clearly does not come from your CAD model so personally I don't think AGStacker shopped it out. I know it still sucks on your end but I don't think anyone was out to steal or profit from your ideas.

scruffydog, this is the first time I ever see your design. We really did what Nillaz said. We took a basic Nissan Logo and apply the Z mark from 350Z. Took out the 3 dots and make a line across it. I think anyone wants to design these emblems would almost all come up the same design. Might be just a little different. As you can see the Z size does extend more on ours.

Looks identical to me.

It's basically the 350Z emblem you see on eBay with the 370 Z on it.

anthonyy 08-24-2012 11:14 AM

Yeah... there's only so many ways a person can put a "z" in a logo. Ppl are obviously more interested in this version... so fair game.

I doubt EVO-R taking the Z and putting it inside the 370z emblem is intellectual theft. It's not exactly a mind blowing concept.

I mean, you might as well contact Z1 about them taking your idea also, even if it's just the 350"z" and not the 370"z".

Even if they did rip off the idea which I highly doubt. If you didnt patent it then it is fair game...Tough luck. Im sure you 100% thought up the idea on your own and didnt get any inspiration from Z1's version or theZstore with their blinker emblem rendition.
