ipod interface; does this charge the ipod as well?
I read on the nissan site that charging may ony be available via FIREWIRE devices. What does this mean?
You need a speacial adaptor (about $25.00) to charge the i-phone, the i-touch, or the new i-pod nanos.
What kind of adapter? Does the connection cable come with the car? and will the other ipods like the ipod classic charge with the included cabke that comes with the car? What I envision doing, is leaving my ipod in the center console without ever having to touch it or re-charge it. Will it work that way?
The cable comes with the car and it will charge the classic with no problem. For the newer ipods you need an adaptor that goes between the cable and the ipod.
The ipod charging and integration only comes with the navigation package. |
Do you know what that adapter is called or where to get it? Also do you have any experience with streaming stereo audio from a bluetooth phone with the Z. I heard about this somewhere. Do you know how this works or how it sounds?
I bought my adaptor at an apple store, but you can order them online. Griffin makes one and so does Scosche. The bluetooth streaming is something that i think just became available on the new iphone that came out today. I'm a blackberry guy, so I haven't heard it.

yea, i have a bb curve 8900 tmobile and it has stereo bluetooth streaming. I read that the Z nav pkg is compatible with this, so you should be able to play your music wirelessly. I wonder how this works or sounds. Do you have an 8900?
No, I have a Storm. I don't know if it has that feature or not. I don't keep any music on my phone. I stick with the ipod for that. That was one of the main reasons I wanted the nav. I really like Nissans ipod integration.
