Ya I probably didn't need the grommet but I figured it might help to keep the upper part of the knob centered on the shaft. Install took 15 minutes. It

Ya I probably didn't need the grommet but I figured it might help to keep the upper part of the knob centered on the shaft.
Install took 15 minutes. It does get very hot in the sun like all metal knobs would I assume. I keep a small cloth on the little shelf behind the passenger seat in case of occasional spills so I just drop that on top when I get out and all is good.
