I would like your feed back (good & bad). I bought a used bumper and thought I would try something different and make own diffuser. I cut out part of the bumper to start out and now need ideas from members that have some knowledge about diffusers.

I'm doing this from my phone. Let me try this a different way. Is this a better picture? Attachment 49770

Looks pretty bad IMO and what's going on with those lights.

ohmikegod 06-29-2012 12:09 PM

What lights?

simota1 06-29-2012 12:30 PM

maybe cut out the rest of the bottom bumper off... like follow the curve line that goes from end to end of the bumper.... i think that would look cleaner than the boxy cut :D

I removed the lights while I'm taking the bumper on and off.

I'm looking to fill in the cut out with a diffuser. I've got sheets of abs plastics (I used to have a side business making heat shields for intakes). I was going to make a diffuser from that and then have it wrapped in carbon fiber. I was hoping it could be functional.

lol at the lights question!

Looks like someone has some extra time on their hands :) couple of ideas for you Chad:

I would go with trying to make something similar to this JP version:

Chargespeed style:

Nearly full undertray versions

A fuller diffuser would be hard with your exhaust setup since your canisters are taking up a lot of the space where the undertray would go. Gotta give you props for having the balls to cut your bumper like that though.

You going to mock it up in cardboard first Chad?

Apoc370z 06-29-2012 03:06 PM

I dont know.. Isnt it easier to just make one that goes on top of the stock diffuser area and work on the under trays?

You are brave to cut your bumper first without any plans
