How do you install Evo-R sideskirts?

I also bought the EVOR CF side blades. The holes are pre-drilled but come with no hardware. And honestly… I didn't even see where these would attach using factory hardware.

Hadn't seen a more recent thread on how to DIY with these CF side blades. I Took your advice 370ZilverZ and bought 3/4-1" self-tapping screws w/ washer (washer also had a very thin layer of foam). I didn't use a jack/ramps/lift. My car is lowered on swift springs. Its doable… I wish I had at least some cheap ramps it would have made the install a breeze.

Step 1: Removed front mud flaps and cleaned the underside
Step 2: Cleaned the blades
Step 3: Laid the 3M VHB tape on the blades
Step 4: Attach side blades w/ 3M VHB tape to car (recommend doing a few test fits because once this tape is on… its freaking on)
Step 5: Using a nail, about half the thickness of your self-tapping screws, to create a hole on the body underside. This makes starting the screws WAY easier. I used the 5 pre-drilled holes on each side blade
Step 6: Using a 1/4" ratchet (or w/e you want) I drove the screws into the body, attaching side blades to the car with 3M VHB tape in between. Careful not to over tighten the screws as that could crack the CF.

You're welcome. Glad to help. Not a fancy DIY by any means lol. Here's a picture of part number and the screws used. I bought them at Ace Hardware.



Not the best picture. But you can see the self tapping tip and "special" washer. I choose them over the standard washer as I felt they'd protect the blades better if someone accidentally stepped on them. Minor flex can't hurt.

I see you're from Orlando? I just moved out of Mickeys backyard to Sarasota few weeks ago. I don't miss the traffic or tourist, lol.

Great fitment and CF pattern quality. Honestly better CF then the Fujimura rear diffuser I bought and also installed today.

Thanks for the pictures! I will attempt to do this again in a couple weeks. I've had my side skirts sitting around for almost two years! It seems something always come up when try to do any work on the car lol

At step 5. How are you predrilling the holes into the body with the nail? Were you using special tool for this part or just by hands to force it through? Thanks again for the tips. You don't know how long I've waited to get this done and out of the way

No problem. I was about to do the same and leave them uninstalled but I just got motivated lol.

I used the ratched/socket as a "holder" to drive the nail/drill thru the plastic body of the car. I placed the nail/drill inside the socket while attached to the ratchet. It gave me the means of forcing it up. Then I wiggled the nail around some to open the hole slightly more. Once that was done I took the self-tapping screw and pushed it into the hole with some force. Not all the way thru but enough to get it started. Then I screwed it in.

I'll add to this, after having to reinstall mine after the first time:

First, I put tape down the entire length. A few spots here & there left them too floppy for my liking.

Second, on the screws, I put a gob of silicone in the hole and on the screw to help hold it once it's in there. The side skirts are really, really thin. It's not like drilling into a 2 x 4. I figured the silicone would keep them from moving around at all.

Yes thats a good note. I put the 3M VHB tape along the entire blade and side-by-side on the rear where its thicker.

The silicon is a good suggestion. Did not think about that. While I do not think mine are going anywhere the silicon adds additional peace of mind. If my sure if my side blades come off the car its because the entire side of my car fell off, lol.

What kind of silicone could be useful and where can I get it? I've had my sideblades and rear diffuser sitting in my garage for almost half a year already. Think its time to put them on.

Not sure, I am actually doing some research right now on the silicon/glue I can use to secure my rear CF diffuser to the car. The top left edge just doesn't want to stick with the 3M VHB...
