i might bring it to my mechanic shop i trust... they have done all the work on my z that i was to scared too... but... since its an electrical prob... i think theyll have a hard time.... im afraid to bring it to nissan guam because the retarded rep there might tell me i need a overhaul again... like the last time i brought in my car for a hesistation issue which was just bad gas......

I know I'm bringing this thread back from the dead but I thought this might help some of the people having this problem.

I was having the same problem as Simota. A few months ago my cruise control light started flashing rapidly (usually after I made a turn). I would turn the car off/on and it would go away for a while. Then it started happening more and more frequently. First it was once a month, then a couple times a month, then a couple times a week, then everyday.

Long story short, I showed it to the dealer and they replaced my ECM under the 8 year/80,000 mile electrical component warranty. All I had to pay was for 1 hour of diagnostic time.

Since I am past my 3 year/30,000 mile warranty and have no extended warranty I figured it would not be covered. I've never been so happy to be wrong.

So if you have this problem take it to a dealer and see if they'll cover it.

I left mine running in the driveway, it was blinking when I came back...

Did OP ever get this issue fixed?

Lunar-Eclipse 05-28-2015 01:58 PM

I'm not the OP but a few months after Nissan replaced my ECM I started getting the damn blinking light again. After much troubleshooting I figured out the problem was the contacts on the clutch safety switch. I cleaned them as a temporary fix but I ultimately replaced the switch. It was a whole $16 from the dealer. That was a year ago. No blinking light since.
