Question about Racing Seats & Airbag
Equinox has a great DIY and there are several other threads a search provided great info on.
However, I notice that in his DIY he specifies a 4.7 ohm 1/2 watt resistor to disable airbag warning each side. Yet when links are posted to amazon and other sites to buy the resistor and they all link to a 4.7 ohm 1/4 watt resistor. Sooo...curious as to which one is correct ? 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt ? Also curious if there is a difference between a 4.7 ohm 1/2 watt metal resistor and a 4.7 ohm 1/2 watt carbon resistor besides the obvious difference in material used to make them ? And lastly, I have 4 point harnesses I am putting in for each side, so will be removing the stock seat belts. Will this cause the seat belt light to stay on and the chime to ring constantly ? Thanks in advance for any input ... |
i want to do harnesses to but countnt find anything safe to mount them to
good luck btw i think its a 1/2 |

I am just going to hook them up to the strut brace for a few weeks until I can get a harness bar of some sort. I guess I have to figure out someway to make the passenger side always detect weight and arm the bag on that side ... can't imagine an HPDE instructor would be thrilled to know my side airbag works and his/her side don't  |
