Chin spoiler scrapes...

I'm leaning quickly that it doesn't take much to scrape the chin spoiler... Anyone have a problem with it breaking, getting scratched up badly, etc?

High curbs, dips in the road, and speed bumps are going to be very challenging for this low hanging spoiler.

Mine has scraped maybe 10 times already, while I am sad, I am just glad it is that piece and not something that is painted. I can always buy another chin spoiler down the road if I want also.

I've not even looked at it to see if it's painted - lol.

I just heard it scrape once pulling out of a McDonalds (yeah, I know, not the classiest place that this car deserves to be seen at!), and once again pulling out of a car wash (spray-n-wash to get the bugs off)

I knew I'd bump on the mcdonalds, but the spray-n-wash surprised me a bit - not much angle...

I live in the suburbs and one of the main roads I have to travel to get anywhere (and in and out of most places near me) was re-done in the last year. Though instead of tearing it up and fixing all the problems, they just poured black top on the top layer and raised the road by one to two inches. Now none of the entrances line up and you have a nice drop then a high incline into most shops around here. I either have to go at extreme angles to get in or just know the best entrance to get in without scraping. Also, my car is not lowered at all which has me worried if I ever change things out.

That's why I wondwer why people on here are talking about lowering their 370z.

I mean, I can understand the desire for the "slammed" look, but, it's a sports-car, not a pimp-mobile.

The driver's side corner of my front spoiler is a little messed up from hitting it kind of hard on my parent's driveway. One of these days I am going to fix it... probably when I pull the front bumper for the Stillen G3 install.

Lowering the car lowers the center of gravity which improves handling. If your roads are not screwed up like ours here in texas, it can be a nice handling and styling boost to lower your Z. For me I only have 3/4" clearance at stock ride height getting out of my own driveway, so the best I can do is get coilovers and drop it a tiny bit.

You almost have to view that lower spoiler as a wear item. I scrape mine around town daily on stock height.

Same. I've come to terms that this piece of plastic is going to have to be replaced down the road.

I actually prefer not having one at all. Now I don't have to hear it scrape all over the place and when I lower the car it won't get completely ripped off.
