Is 370Z Paint "Soft"? Can You Recommend Coating?

Do you find that your paint is unusually susceptible to stone chips and scratches? I was going over my gunmetal gray 2011 Z yesterday, and found what seems to me

Default Is 370Z Paint "Soft"? Can You Recommend Coating?

Do you find that your paint is unusually susceptible to stone chips and scratches?

I was going over my gunmetal gray 2011 Z yesterday, and found what seems to me to be a lot of chips and scratches that were not there a month ago. My other (past) cars never showed this much paint damage. So I wonder if the paint--or maybe just this color?--is more readily damaged than others.

Needless to say, I plan on having the car detailed and coated, after I get the touch up paint I ordered. Suggestions for coating?

I had Optimum Opti-Coat put on the car and then put the clear-bra on the entire front end, front fender, pillars etc.

The 370 paint is extremely soft with very little clearcoat. I hate it.

The paint sucks, you spend so much on the car it's self. Why can't they at least use some decent paint on the car? I have had my car for 8 months now, and I've noticed alot of chip marks from stones. If i knew that the 370z paint was this bad I wouldn't have wasted my money on buying this car.

The paint is bad, but wouldnt extent that to actually purchasing the Z in the first place. The car is still a great car nontheless.

i researched about the flaws of the 370z before buying it and the poor paint quality is one of the most mentioned. Installed a clear bra when it was new and i have zero rock chips after 2 years.

My clear bra is super scratched thou and im planning to remove it soon

Very soft! My new Z is only a month old and I already have a few rock chips. My car is Red and the chips are white. I orderded Dr. Colorchip and it works well.

You can't just buy one (well you can but you shouldn't). Google clearbra and your area to find a good installer. Expect to pay between 600+ depending on what you cover.

Never heard of it...sounds like a BS dealer gimmick. Quit stalling and get the clear bra already...before your front end gets chipped.
