So, my strap wrench broke and I could only get the knob to be the position shown in the pic. I only took off the stock knob and twist this

PWJDM shift knob installtion, help needed
So, my strap wrench broke and I could only get the knob to be the position shown in the pic. I only took off the stock knob and twist this one on. Is is the right way or am I doing it all wrong??
