PWJDM shift knob installtion, help needed
So, my strap wrench broke and I could only get the knob to be the position shown in the pic. I only took off the stock knob and twist this one on. Is is the right way or am I doing it all wrong??

You need to back-off (counter clockwise) the new shift knob so the logo is lined up to where you want it. Use the supplied thread lock and let it set over night.

I don't think I can back off because at this position, I still have a gap between the knob and the boot

I bought a new strap wrench and it's all line up now. I figured the one I broke was not gripping too well

Nice.... I have the original PWJDM knob where the inner collars are able to be aligned by loosening the hex screw. If the shift boot is still a little low you can still add some spacer on the shaft to push it up. Any finished pics?

My shifter and shift knob has a gap becuase I didn't use spacer. But I'm sure you can do that. I'm onna be the only one that sees that and not trying to start doing it again lol

dang, never heard of people needing to use a strap wrench to TIGHTEN the knob.
as mr.gale suggested, i also used a plastic washer inside the boot to hold the boot up flush to the base of the PWJDM shiftknob collar. it's a great knob |
