Default Cyron 9" LED Media Highlighter PRO System Review

I bought the Cyron 9" LED Media Highlighter PRO System to put in my Nissan 370Z. I selected Cyron because it seemed to offer the most features (e.g., continuous color scan) for the best price. I am very pleased with this system, although of course it's a silly indulgence.

The kit is delightfully complete (except for supplying only one alcohol wipe for the whole install). It comes with double-sided adhesive strips to attach the clips that hold the LED bars to whatever surface you like. It also has small screws if you want to use them instead of the adhesive strips. I liked that they supplied material for whichever technique you prefer. There are a couple of potential problems I would like to make you aware of.

First, each LED string has a given length of connecting wire. The connectors are complex because there are individual leads for each color. It seems to me it would be nearly impossible to change the length of these multi-wire connectors. When there was too much wire, I just balled up the excess and suffed it into a cavity where it didn't show. Thankfully, I didn't have to deal with not having enough wire. That would have been a show-stopper.

Second, the power line ends in a plug that fits the included 12 VDC adapter. That's great for interior installations, but there is no provision to get power when installing in a car. An adapter for a cigarette-lighter type power outlet would have been nice.

Overall, I think this system is a bargain and would recommend it to anyone wanting a cheesy light show.
