GTR Hood Scoops
Has anyone ever tried mounting a set of GTR hood scoops on a 370Z. Carbon Fiber ones can be bought for under $200. Just a mater of cutting some holes in the hood. Just not sure it they would work. I believe the GTR has a curved area where the mount into the hood.

SIMOTA1 had the GTR vent scoops before. He cut the hood himself iirc.

what did you use to hold the in place? I feel the same way... if I screw it up, I'm just getting a carbon fiber hood to replace it anyway. I'm game for cutting up the stock hood. Any tips?

Anything behind the front 1/3 of the hood is (in most cars) a high-pressure area of the exterior. Which means that you may actually end up feeding air back under the hood - probably won't happen, but what also probably won't happen is venting any air out from under the hood. My guess is that unless they're nearer the front of the hood, you won't improve cooling efficiency, but you may hurt it.
Looks are another matter, of course. |
