radar waves bounce off of everything, other cars, the road, buildings, trees, even moisture in the air. Line of sight is not required for a good detector to pick up these radar waves. The redline does have 2 antennas in the front making it much more sensitive. Range is a by product of this sensitivity but the source out of LoS that it picks up, where they like to hide, will save your butt.

I vote 9500ix - Valentine One is antiquated. Look at the charts on this review - the V1 has TONS of false alarms.
