Shifter rattle noise
 

Hey guys, I need your help on checking this out for me:

Follow this guide http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...t-install.html to remove the center console. Once you lift it up, look deep inside on your right (assuming you are seating on the driver's seat), there should be a bolt. Can you check to see if it's tight? Mine is loose and I can't seem to tighten it.

More on the rattle: all of the sudden, I've got this weird rattle coming from the gearbox/shifter area. The noise is like a buzz, as if a small piece of soft plastic continuously tapping on metal. It only happens on 2nd, 4th, and 6th, yeah so pretty down positions but 4th gear seems to be the loudest.

Btw, I had the transmission replaced by Nissan a couple of days ago. Not sure if it's related.

I would bet this is what is causing it. I would go back to Nissan & explain to them about what your hearing & for them to fix this since it didn't happen before.

Thanks. I had my uncle who is a mechanic look at the thing. There are actually 2 bolts and they are both loose. Looks like whoever did the job forgot to tighten them. Going back to Nissan tomorrow. Hassle!
