@gun grave. I would call mike or email him. Hell answer custom headlight question you can think of :)

ryan370zpower 04-19-2012 07:04 AM

@lemers I would give mike a call and ask him about pricing. He's on the forums too so maybe he'll be around

That's amazing work, but $4k for headlights? My Nismo bumper conversion only cost me $2k, and people think I'm nuts for spending that.

Again, the work is amazing!

Nope, they're not bright. The word bright is subjective. They lights illuminate accordingly per their function, which is why we post before & after shots of each and every product on our website so that people can see how they compare to stock. Camera is affixed on a tripod with same camera angles, manual aperture and exposure. No youtube videos of unfinished lights on a test-bench, no cheap techno music, no sleezy dancing girls.

I'm with him. How much are they going to cost? And do you have any pictures of lights on at night after being installed on the car? I'm assuming that you can pick different color lights as well? Oh and by any chance where the light fixture itself is black could it be blue (the same color blue as the car) and the thingys around the headlights itself, can they be gold? Yeah I have several customization questions lol.

We are very limited as to what options we offer. Our customers are not engineers, this is not Burger King where you can have it your way. Lights are safety devices, so we only offer a small handful of options which usually comes down to paint scheme for the bezels. Even then, we've had to decline some customer requests due to lack of color coordination.

It is. 12 years of being in business, you tend to see a lot of mistakes in the industry. As other vendors if they take apart your lights with a home oven or seal your lights with silicone, then purchase new factory replacement headlights at over $800 USD per light, and there is your answer as to why things are expensive. I always advise people leave things stock or, pay for it once and do it right.

What do you think we use for toilet paper around here? $100 dollar bills, only the best.

96-98 S13 180SX, not Type-X. Type-X is a trim and has nothing to do with the type of tail light. All trims of 96-98 S13 180SX came with the same (round) tail lights.

And, the kouki lights were HALF of what you're quoting and included all new lights with pre-painted center panel, lower metal trim and wiring that is pre-wired to the USDM wire harness so that its all plug-and-play. But if you're broke and want to cut corners, you can always supply the lights yourself which would save you some dough.

Nope, not a vendor on any forum. We're too low volume to justify the advertising costs most forums are asking. No hard feelings, if I'm violating policy, mods please delete this entire post.

I've got (2) 370Z's worth invested into one of my restorations, I stopped paying attention to pricing and simply buy what I like when it comes to cars. I dont think anyone in their right mind could compare Rota with Volk, or Megan with HKS. If it was up to my wife, we wouldn't have Advan AD08 tires on our daily driver. This is why she has no say when it comes to car related things. Do as you wish.

12 years ago when I started out, no one was doing this type of work. Nowadays you guys have plenty of vendors to chose from. Ryan and I had worked together when he had his 350Z and then inquired (again) when he got his 370Z. I still recall him telling me about another vendor at the time, that had similar but less expensive offerings. That vendor is no longer in business. It is what it is. We've been around forever and plan on staying. All of our products are designed to be fully serviceable and upgradable, I personally see a value in that. The cons are the high price and (very) LONG build times.

Good luck everyone and Ryan, thanks for the photos, kind words, and glad to see that everything is operating with no problems or water leakage.

No one here has questioned anything about the quality of your product, only that the price is a little excessive.. By a little I mean substantially.. Especially if the customer is provideing their own headlights.. I know that your 180sx tails were seen as the "holy grail" of tailights on many of the 240 forums, however you seem not to take critisism very well, and in my opinion are quite arrogant.. Talking down to people is not going to earn you more customers... In my experience most people on this forum would rather take that kind of money and put it towards performance gains rather than something cosmetic, no matter how cool it looks. You focus on lights being safety devices, and can not be customized to the customers likings. You proudly proclaim that you are not Burger King, and "you can't have it your way". Well if I am paying that kind of money I damn well better be able to get what I want.. Also since you are so focused on lights being safety devices, are any of your modifications DOT approved? I would hate for someone to drop hard earned cash just to find out they are illegal and can not use them.. Of course this is all my opinion and you can take it for what its worth.. But I am sure I am not the only one here thinking this.

very well said. I'd much rather drop $4k on getting ALL my bolt ons...

370Z JT 04-19-2012 12:40 PM

Not sure why people are bashing. If people are willing to pay he can continue to charge whatever he wants.

TerribleONE 04-19-2012 12:51 PM

true

Xplicit97 04-19-2012 01:16 PM

My post was mostly directed at the attitude of the company, since he represents them. Which is asking forum members to open up their wallets and buy their products.. I've seen the same attitude while representing his company on other forums as well.. I was merely stating if you are providing a high end product your attitude and how you interact with your customers might want to represent the same.

370Z JT 04-19-2012 01:18 PM

^agreed.

Liquid_G 04-19-2012 01:30 PM

I'm sorry but that looks horrible. Are those made out of the clear diffuser panels from fluorescent light boxes, like you'd find in an office in a drop-ceiling?

Liquid_G 04-19-2012 01:35 PM

and really? From the website:

$300/pair LED License Plate Tag Lights (Standard Version)
$500/pair LED License Plate Tag Lights (Super LED Version)
$300/pair LED Vanity Mirrors

Wow........
