Duraflex N-1 kit vs OEM Nismo S-Tune

I'm looking into doing some body mods to my 09 Chicane Yellow Base Non-Sport Coupe, while saving as much $$ as possible. The Duraflex N-1 kit and the OEM Nismo S-Tune look very similar but the S-Tune costs considerably more (atleast on the surface). After shopping around I've found that I can get the OEM S-Tune parts fully painted for about $2700. Where as I can get the full Duraflex N-1 kit unpainted for about $1000.

Which would you recommend? Will the Duraflex have figment issues? Etc etc

All comments will be appreciated!

Attachment 44834Attachment 44835Attachment 44836I went with the Nismo kit( one piece at a time). Check the various web site and you can find some good prices. Nothing like OEM fit!

the OEM stuff, always!

OEM is great and preferable for obvious reasons, but the N1 copies I believe are FRP and of good quality. I don't think buying the copy will be a bad investment. You wouldn't be making a mistake. But the OEM is designed to be naturally fluid woth the car and probably will have a slightly longer life in a durability sense. But the N1 should last a while too. Its really what can you afford. the biggest thing would be... The OEM will help resale while the N1 won't.

Just installed my oem s-tune kit. I say go oem because of the fitment, and it already comes painted. When you do install it, do post pics. I haven't seen one in yellow.

I want to see that durafelx kit. You got pics?

Get a quote on painting the kit -- if you save >$500, go with that.

Less than $500, I think the ease of OEM wins.

i had the duraflex kit, its alot cheaper, fitment was good wasnt perfect, all up to u depends on ur budget

I've yet to see an aftermarket body panel that didn't need some sort of work to fit perfectly. This includes the expensive JDM aero kits. It's just the way it is. Some kits require a lot of work (cheaper stuff usually) while others requires a little bit of work.

I've personally installed Duraflex bumpers and the fitment is pretty good. Overall quality is pretty good too. If I was building a show car, I'd skip Duraflex; but for a daily driver or a track car, go for it. I considered some of their stuff on my 240SX before I sold it.

Thanks guys. If I go forward with it, I'll definitely be going with the S-Tune kit.. I like keeping things simple and going with the Duraflex adds too many variables just to save a few hundred bucks. The extra cost in the end will be worth the saved stress and effort in doing the install.

As for a yellow S-Tune here are a few pics of ones I've come across on this site...

but my overall goal is to do something similar to what Smallywood did with his Platinum Graphite...

Really love the Red behind the Nissan Emblem. Going back and forth between the Sport Spoiler or the S-Tune Spoiler...

I have plenty of time to decide...

I would have went for the s-tune wing if i didn't have to fill holes from the sports package wing

Alexshen1 04-17-2012 08:17 AM

heres mine b4 the crash

the s-tune wing is one of the best looking imo, considering the price

Just installed an aftermarket replica sport spoiler.. Ended up saving over $500 by going aftermarket and the paint match is perfect!

Not sure if you were aware but the S tune kit comes pre painted also
