LED Parking Lights Replaced

Front parking LED lights came in today and I couldnt wait to put them in.

After putting them in they looked alot more blue in color that I thought they would be. They do not match the stock HID lights.

I got the same 6000k LED color for my Map, Trunk, and Plate lights. They look more white than blue.

Debating to leave them on or not.

Well the pictures make them look blue rather than white. If they look white in person I say keep it. Blue looks tacky.

Got a pair of 5000k LED's to replace the 6000k that looked too blue for my taste. I think the 5000k blends in better with the stock HID's.

Is it hard to install them? And what kind of bulb did you buy?

XwChriswX 04-17-2012 11:39 PM

Stock bulbs run at 4300k, that's why the 5000k seems closer. Looks good.

Very easy to install. You have to go through the fender well. Just turn the wheel to make room and it should take a few minutes per side.

Yea I didnt like the blue next to the stock HID's. Unless I upgrade to a 6000k HID bulb I'll stick with the 5000k.

Where did you get the parking lights? I want to do the same but also want to change the reverse lights and rear turn signals. Trying to find a place to order them all at once.

MattP725 04-18-2012 12:52 PM

I actually thought the same thing about my LEDs but honestly I would like a hint of blue with my HIDs so I will probably swap them out for 6000's at some point.

I got them from V-LEDs.com.

I'll switch out the LED's to the 6k if i swap out my HID bulb. Thinking about it. Do you know what size/watt the HID bulb is?

How much it cost? SMD or CREE bulbs?

TenaciousZ 07-13-2012 10:37 AM

:iagree: which ones?

Love the look

neko 07-13-2012 06:12 PM

It's the "M-SMT" with 13 LED's.

They are super bright.

MattP725 07-14-2012 09:33 AM

I ended up with 6k diffused bulbs from V-LED and 6k HIDs from theretrofitsource.com and it turned out to match perfectly... better than the stock yellow tinted hids.

I just bought some from ijdmtoy.com (I don't recommend them, they have no clue what they're selling you) and they came with instructions specifying three fasteners you need to remove in the wheel well... I turned the wheel and I see one.. From there there's various fasteners and screws all over. It kinda looks like a pain unless I'm missing something? Is it different for 2013 models? By the way I checked every thread I could find and they're not too specific. Help somebody

Huck 12-18-2013 10:35 PM

Send pics of the wheel well if you can, sounds like the 2013 may be slightly different. For mine it was a couple of those plastic push pin things and the liner came right out.

Mine only had 1 push pin per side. I have a 11. I went with amber led to match the existing led.

Huck 12-19-2013 05:59 PM

Yeah sounds like a design change. I have an 09 and I just recently changed the headlight bulbs, had to undo three push pins on each wheel well.

CarbonFZ 12-19-2013 06:26 PM

2013 arent different i just popped on rivet out and pulled the innner liner down and plugged mine in

Huck 12-19-2013 08:50 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06RsfUYhecwI took this for Zteven, but figured that I might as well post it here for anyone else who has a question about this procedure.

Zdayz 2014!!

Seems simple enough I know but it's a new car and I'm in no rush to mess it up. I thought I had it figured out but your video sealed the deal for me to be sure of what I was doing. Thanks a lot

Huck 12-20-2013 12:56 PM

No problem man, glad I could help out!

Are these 194s? I want to order mine

Huck 12-20-2013 03:51 PM

Yes sir, 194 which also fits T10 leds

Zdayz 2014!!

Elan 12-21-2013 01:30 AM

Looks great! I've gotten lots of compliments on mine!

KaienZ34 12-31-2013 04:35 PM

Should these work for our parking lights?

194 6K WHITE 6 LED HIGH POWER 360° 170LM | 1 PAIR (backordered 1-9-14) B/O - 360 - 6K White LED - 194 - 168 - 158 LED - Bulb Number

1st 12-31-2013 04:42 PM

194 is the correct part number for our parking lights. So yes they are correct. Please take note that some of the LED base of the LED light bulbs them self are wider then Oem and will stretch out the connection part. So in the future if you go back to Oem you might need to bend the connector back to spec so the Oem base of the Oem bulb fits securely.

KaienZ34 12-31-2013 05:37 PM

Thanks for the info, does anyone have problems with their parking led's flicking from time to time?

Yes when starting to go out or 1 out of like 5,10 etc LED's go out in a single bulb.

vtec to vvel 05-30-2015 08:50 PM

i did mine today with 6k LEDs and they only have a slight hint of blue. when i took pics, it does look like a deeper blue.

Gianni 10-28-2015 11:23 AM

I got my headlight painted and the guy painted over my parking light lens! Anybody know where I can get 2 new lens!? It's not letting any light out and it looks horrible, please help.

Z173 08-30-2016 08:01 AM

Anyone having problems with broken fuses or burnt LEDs after changing to LEDs for the parking lights?

GMB14U2NV 09-01-2016 06:52 PM

Can't say that I have and I did every bulb in the car.
Have you performed any other electrical upgrades to the car like an amplified stereo?
Are the bulbs you got high end? or Asia imported knock offs that really have no QC in the production process???
