A7'rz that WANT a BOOT & SHIFTER mod please stand up!
 

As you know. Guerney Eagle and a couple of others bumped an ongoing UAM thread about the "short-throw styled shift boot &knob" for the A7. Either UAM or the mods closed it without reason or explanation.
I was hoping all the A7 owners that are truely interested put there names on here.
MAYBE, a more "Dedicated to the Z" company may pick up the project if we can project at least 25 members interested???
I know we have a lot of forum brothers who would be interested. Show your faces and maybe EVO-R or another SPONSOR may pick it up?

I have a small company and have cnc capibilities. If you guys can throw out some sketches, I can maybe make a short run of knobs. I don't want to do Ti as it's a bitch to machine. Throw out some ideas. I own a 7AT so I too want a new knob similar to the GTR. I can assure it fits since I have the car!!

i agree. needs to sit lower, is my main concern. as for shape..something "factory" looking would be classy.

Would like some kinda low sitting ball style shift knob for my 7AT.. Was kinda confused when I saw the thread had been locked.. Disappointed... Someone pick this project up please!!

The G37 is a perfect example. Looks great

I'd be interested if it looked like the subtle, more slender boot they have on the G37. Not really a fan of giant boots on either shiftier.

As another alternative, a shorter bootless shifter that is highly similar to the one on the GT-R would be sweet.

Guys you should check out the FRS shifter. Its round like ours but, look at how they utilize that space on the auto... looks beautiful. I would take a the carbon fiber style design that was on the UAM thread that got shot down for whatever reason.

What I'd be down for is a small wiring harness kit to switch the Up and Down spots, like that one someone linked from some JDM mfg. And a replacement cover plate with the +/- corrected.

This one looks pretty freakin slick. Anyone willing to take a dive to see if it fits on our cars?

Mine's makes one. Get with nissan race shop. I know they sell mines products. Hopefully they have the harness too or at least order it. Should cost about 80 rocks for the harness. I'm about to get mine. I will be contacting mine's vendors on Monday. :)

I've already done the 6MT shifter console swap, so just looking to get a nicer looking shift knob. I was hoping PW:JDM would take their mod 1 knob and just make the bolt in the head free floating so it could be depressed to engage the transmission, but I guess that idea never went anywhere. I love the look of that shifter knob. :shakes head:

And as for the UAM Shifter thread, I just posted in it... So I don't think it's locked. :ugh2:

I'm in:tup: I was just sitting in traffic earlier this afternoon and was just disgusted with how the stock shifter looks, so I hope something can happen of this list.

the G37 console is a different shape.

That sucks.


I'd really like to see someone offer a G37- or GTR-esque shifter knob set up. I'm guessing it wouldn't be cheap, but would be worth it if it looked both OEM and better than stock.

List me please.

Also, does anyone have access to Nissan parts at dealer cost. I would gladly pay shipping, but local dealers want $130 for the manual shifter boot.
