So, I have a CF hood and CF Mine's rear wing add-on with blacked out handles. Do I dare take the chance and get the CF handles or could that be too much?

Yeah, they are painted black to match the TE-37's but little bits of silver are starting to show from rock chips or maybe just due to having gotten it painted over 1 1/2 years ago.

Attachment 44598Hey what's up guys. So I got my handle covers delivered today and I decided to drill a key hole in it. Well the resin cracked... I started with a small pilot hole but still happened . So now I gotta repair it. The question is, does anyone here know what kind of resin I can use for this. Needs to be clear. There are tons of choices out there. Just hoping someone here would know. If you look at the pic you can see where the resin is delaminating from the carbon cloth. I know I gotta chip that away first then apply resin. Thoughts ? Thanks in advance.

pm cfe tony is the man for that job... did you drill it from the back or from the front?

i made the pilot hole from behind then opened it up from the front. when the small bit popped though if pulled the resin away from the CF.

Just thought I'd share some pics of this product and my review. Awesome fit and finish. They went on with no problems or modifications, but I did add a little more 3M adhesive tape to make them more secure.

I bought some resin at a marine shop. I put one coat over it looks pretty good. That was last night. Gonna sand it tonight and apply a second coat. On Monday I will sand it again and put 2 coats of BASF clear coat on them. I'll be all set after that. I want to add that you do not NEED to make a hole for the key but I like to think ahead. In case the battery dies.

I think there *is* such a thing as too much carbon fiber. CF has a real place in automobile construction--just ask Lamborghini! But pasting a CF piece over an already-functional part (like a door handle or B pillar) could make you look like a poser. Of course it's a matter of individual taste, but if you ask me, I'd say paint it--either body color or some other color that ties in with your car, like the brake calipers. (For the record, I have a gunmetal Z with blue calipers and I intend to paint the handles blue as well.)
