I've been seeing massive reductions in temp by opening up the grille, not just vents in the hood. Ambient AIT's and oil temps so low I though my gauge was broken. Just some food for thought.

Hey Hotrodz,

I have been looking for a CF hood and mostly interested in the Fujimura CF hood. I don't know where to find it, and I also plan on boosting in the future. My question is that you are saying that the hood does not ventilate as well as one would think? Also I checked vivids site and could not find any place to order it, but now I am kind of on the fence because ultimately I would much rather have functionality over appearance. The Fuji hood is the best looking IMHO, but if it heat may become an issue when boosted I may have to look at other hoods as the Fuji seems to cost nearly 2-3 times as some of the other options and does not equate to ventilation.. thanks greatly appreciate your feedback on it.

Also have you thought about adding more ventilation to the hood while keeping the appearance and improving on functionality? That might be something worth while..

Edit: Just saw that you were looking for custom inserts disregard previous message

Lol, I so what you did and I considering do the same thing. Oddly enough AIT temp are very acceptable with the ventilation I have only running a few degrees above ambient but my water and oil temps are way to high. I will hit you up in your thread.

The Fugi hood is awesome and sexy as hell. It is very functional and moves a lot of air. Like I said in another post I have only hit high temps on one occasion during a track day and the temp was over 90*. This really could have nothing to do with the hood but more to not getting more air in through the bumper. My temps were even fine on a 100* track event that was a night. So I am doing a number of things to combat high temps.

The great thing about the hood is you can run in the rain and water never touches your engine. The hood drains incredibly well. I would buy it again. The other reason I am looking for a solution is I don't want to screw Fugi up at the track. So far it has no noticeable chips or scratches on it. You can order the Fugi hood from RHDJapan. They have reasonable prices and the wait is about three months.

Is the seibon hood functional?

Those naca ducts suck air in but theres nowhere to release air

The actual gtr has those same ducts but inimgine for a purpose

Eh for turbos It's functional I would think. My stock hood got damaged so was easier to throw on a new one. The non vented was a 2 month wait.

Im interested bro! depending on the price and the style of the inserts of course

VIS hood does a pretty good job of keeping things cool, especially on track summer days. no fitting issues, highly recommend.

How long have you had your VIS hood for and how has it been treating you? I have a good deal on one lined up, but I've seen a thread that talks about VIS going downhill in quality where it has issues with bubbling, yellowing, etc.

How's the VIS hood treating you and how long have you had it? I've heard stories about VIS quality going down in the more recent years. I have a good deal lined up on a VIS hood, but I'd rather pay more if VIS really is cheaping out on quality like some people say they are.
