stillen front body

I was looking at Stillen front body kit, and I was wondering why they made the side air duct so big.
My concern is, when it rains, the water may get into the CAI and to the engine.
Am I worrying too much?

I have read bad things about that Stillen front bumper... It sucks cause it looks amazing...

It's made that way so you can have, oil, transmission, turbo/SC, power steering, or whatever other type of coolers you want to have in the side wells.

And depending on which intakes you have water may/may not be a problem. If you're running oiled filters, water isn't an issue. If you're running dry filters then yeah you shouldn't drive through rivers. :ugh2:

water isn't going anywhere through those side vents other than hitting your inner fender linings and down out the bottom. The CAI is up in the center under the middle of the upper portion, at least with their Gen 3s. I've had the bumper 2 years now, and although its seen very little rain on my car, it has seen an entire track weekend in the rain and there are no issues.

I think he's talking about the AEM/Injen filter locations Mike.

yea I have AEM CAI

Mike 03-30-2012 10:58 AM

yeah, if they are in the sides they might get a little wet. The stillen is really designed for their filters. They even have an additional air inlet for the Gen 3s on the underside of the upper part of the grill opening.
