Nice. I'm holding out for the CF version.

LakeShow 03-17-2012 01:00 AM

Looks good. Now does this look 100% identical to the Nismo wing or is it noticeable that it's not OEM. I'm looking to do a full Nismo conversion sometime soon with OEM parts and the rear wing seems to be the hardest part to locate and ridiculously priced. So I was wondering if it's almost exactly the same as the Nismo one.

I didn't know that EVO-R was making a carbon fiber version. I know that Extreme Dimensions and Seibon make one.

To me it looks OEM and quality is beyond fantastic. The hard part was taking off the OEM sport package spoiler... a whole lot of double sided tape. Another reason I went with this one is that it covers the stock holes and bolts up to the stock holes.

370Z JT 03-17-2012 01:14 AM

Did you reuse the clips and such? Or just the 2 bolts 2 nuts, double sided tape?

ccastro, what wheels/specs are those? Car looks great, nice and clean.

CCastro 03-17-2012 11:51 AM

Varrstoen's 18x 9.5 et12 front 18x10.5 et0 rear 245 45 18 front and 275 40 18 rear Sumitomo HTR ZIII... I like the thickness thick car with thick hips and thick wheels and tires... nice and meaty

Nitex 03-17-2012 12:16 PM

CCastro i love it! Looks great man, Varrstoen's huh? Looked close enough to volks to me... Any idea on weight?

And is that V1 or V2 EVO lipkit i see ?

Also what suspension are you running and how low? Camber arms/toe bolts?

No idea on weight... The lip is the V1 I believe, 3 piece carbon fiber... and last BC coils, no gap all around. The wind diffuser in front of the tires are about 2-2.5 fingers from the ground. No camber arms or bolts... I'm running about 1.3 degrees of camber in the front and about 3 degrees in the rear, the stock camber bolts in the rear actually have a good amount of adjustability on them (won't go stock specs, but I probably couldn't do that anyways with the aggressiveness of the rear wheel.

Nice wing! I considered it but felt it was too tall. I like that it has the middle post and looks OEM.

What did you do with the stock holes and clips? Cover and seal them up or bondo/fill them in and sand down for install?

anthonyy 03-17-2012 02:53 PM

CCastro that looks good, great job!

This wing bolts in factory sport spoiler locations

CCastro 03-17-2012 06:55 PM

Bolted in the stock locations and double sided 3m tape around like the stock spoiler... It's secure as can be

spearfish25 03-17-2012 07:18 PM

Can you take a photo from inside the car, looking back through the back window (either directly or through the rearview center mirror...or both)?!

Looks great

It's not too bad though.

Wonder how it would look on my Z with the regular front fascia.

LakeShow 03-18-2012 06:43 PM

I love the design and look of the wing as it looks just like the OEM one but I feel it sits a little high compared to OEM. Would I be able to maybe fabricate it to sit a little lower maybe with some cutting or shaving done by a body shop?

If you want a lower one buy the Seibon one, this one was designed to be slightly bigger.
OP, looks great.

I believe if you have the OEM spoiler, the seibon or the extreme dimensions wing will not cover some of the holes... but if you are going to modify his wing, you might as well get the seibon or extreme dimensions wing and fill some holes on the trunk lid..

people have said that they are all being covered by the replica.

martin82 03-19-2012 12:50 AM

I installed a seibon cf wing all wholes are covered, but need to drill 4 new holes

tjlazer 03-19-2012 02:11 AM

I really wish EVO-R would also produce a replica of the Nismo wing, same size. They would sell like hot cakes.

EVOR 03-19-2012 03:03 AM

First time see the lip and the wing on red! Looks great! Good job!

I was thinking the same thing. They really do need to make a regular size one too, that mounts in the sport holes. I sent them a PM, I hope they consider it. I really want one with the middle post.

Yeah I'm looking to do exactly a full Nismo conversion like yours and the problem is finding and locating the OEM rear spoiler and at a reasonable price not like 2,000$. I actually read recently in an old thread that someone bought an OEM spoiler and apparently the forum member said it fit perfectly over the holes. There apparent speculation of the OEM doesnt fit over the holes I don't believe is true because no one actually bought the spoiler and tried it but drew me to that conclusion after a someone made a post that it did cover it. I will look for the thread...
