The square holes only go thru the top side of the hatch so you have to drill holes on the underside of the hatch for the bolts to go thru. Its very easy to do since you already have the top holes to show where to drill.

Yep, after re-reading the whole thread, it clearly uses some, but not all of the factory holes. So, it seems like some people have used just those two holes plus tape, and others have drilled out new holes for the outer two mounting points. Thanks for the clarification!
