So all of you that have installed the Highwing. Have you noticed you cannot open the hatch now without having to hold the button in and lifting up? Are there stiffer springs we can get from like the Nismo to help fix this issue? Might also try the penny trick and see if this works... I already have the hatch springs replaced from the dealer as it was sticking sometimes...

Yep i noticed and it doesnt bother me that much,, u will need to replace to heavy duty trunk lift cause u gained more weight on ur trunk,, penny trick doesnt work i tried

Verbal21 05-20-2012 05:51 PM

yeah, it doesn't really bother me because I never really open my trunk since you can't fit anything in there anyway, but I could see how people might find that a problem.

EVOR 05-20-2012 11:01 PM

I got a solution for you guys. I'll post pics later. It is very easy.

Thats good news!

EVOR 05-20-2012 11:41 PM

Pop open your trunk. On the left side and right side there is a rubber stopper on each side. Inside there are springs. These springs gets weak after awhile. Specially something heavy it pushing them. Solution is put some pennies inside or metal ring inside. Made the spring have more pressure. So when pop open the trunk the spring will have more force to pop open.

Doesn't bother me either, i put a bigger wing on that leans further back putting more offset weight, I expected it but I may try the penny thing anyway and see if it works.

I also should mention my body shop did a fantastic job, it took 2 weeks for the to tell me it was ready for install but I also told them no rush so it could have been done earlier if I had asked. Charged me book time for a nismo wing cuz of how similar they are and everything is flush and perfect.

Just an update: Just installed two washers one each side in mine and it opens right up like it did before. I do have the revised springs that the dealer replaced though...

Bowing

Hey - several posts back some of you said were having problem with this wing "bowing" up. I live in TX and already approaching 100 degree days - so, want to know if these issues have been resolved either by EVO or some fix at installation? Also, since it's plastic, can anyone tell me if it is HARD like CF, or soft and pliable like the DFR versions I keep seeing on Ebay? I'm concerned re lasting quality of paint if soft. Last - does it make more sense to get CF wing or spoiler and primer/paint it vs dealing with EVO-R plastic? Thanks!

tjlazer 06-01-2012 03:58 PM

I haven't had any bowing issues. Though I live in Seattle. The Antarctic of the USA.

maro 06-01-2012 09:36 PM

dkoebel 06-05-2012 10:54 AM

Is the CF version same dimensions as original High Wing? Same mounting instructions utililizing existing spoiler holes? Still have to paint non-CF portion? If buy original non-CF version from existing Z Store inventory, can I get the stronger adhesive you mention sent to me or are you providing to them?

Jay,

Whenever you get pricing and production together for the CF version for sport models, I'd also like to know. P.S. sent you email/message on thread regarding rear diffuser and door handles. LMK

Chris.

Bandit_Kaine 07-11-2012 09:59 PM

If i buy this from the Z store does it come with the super strong adhesive for the center piece?

EVOR 07-11-2012 10:21 PM

Yes, we now all include it

dirTy_shoeZ 07-12-2012 07:54 AM

I love how that wing looks

neveucd 07-13-2012 08:22 AM

scruffydog 07-13-2012 09:52 AM

what rear lip is that? looks amazing..I plan on gettin the same wing but carbon :ughdance:

Z eliminator 04-08-2013 11:51 AM

When you installed the wing did you use the same bolts from the sport wing.
I need to buy the tape. where can i buy it ? i bought the wing from a member here and did not get the mounting hardware.

thanks

Z

tjlazer 04-08-2013 01:30 PM

Yes uses stock Sport holes. 3M tape works from any car parts store.

DarkJak 04-08-2013 03:04 PM

Between this and the Amuse wing, which do you think generates more downforce?

Z eliminator 04-08-2013 05:29 PM

its good that it use's the stock holes for mounting but what about the mounting bolts. do you use the stock bolts ?
