40th paint job color

Has anyone repainted their Z the same color as the 40th anniversary and how much did it cost if so?

Total color change (engine bay, etc.?)

If so, that's absurd. Looks good, though!

Why is it absurd to repaint your car? Especially with all the complaints people have about the factory paint. Would it be expensive? Of course, but I hardly think it's absurd. I for one have always loved dark green cars but of course Nissan doesn't offer that color. If anything were to happen to my car that required a respray, I probably would spend to the extra money to go ahead and change the color.

To the OP a proper color changing respray (including door jambs, under hood and such) would easily run you 3 to 5 grand depending on how much prep work you are willing to do (i. e. Stripping the interior, and pulling glass and lights, etc.) To most this is too much of a hassle/expense, but to a few completely worth it. That decision is entirely up to you. If you are serious, then stop by a few body shops and get quotes. Won't cost you anything but time.

By the way I love the color of that blue car posted above. Gorgeous!

Got a link? I'd imagine this looks pretty close to what the new midnight blue is going to look like.

edit: found it.

Don't paint your car OEM colors... you will save significant money by just trading your Z for the color you want (not to mention headaches plus you get that cool red interior). OK maybe I am bias.

The owner must have a lot of money to throw around, sponsors or a friend that owns a body shop.

Anyway, a good paint job will run you over $4,000 + if so....

Recently I painted my car. Here it is.
