Seibon CF Mirrors Covers!!! Buyers Beware
Just a warning to my fellow Z owners, if your thinking about purchasing some of Seibons carbon fiber mirror covers u may want think twice. Seibon did a poor job of molding these pieces and clearly developed them for just looks and not functinality. The fitment is terrible and they have to be modified just to get them to function properly so the mirrors can be adjusted without damaging the mirror motors. The instalation is extremely difficult and takes several hours to get them installed corretly. Without the proper tools its impossible. If your looking for a quick easy mirror upgrade i HIGHLY recomend u go a different route and get something else. The mirrors dont come with any instruction wich is crazy considering how involved and complicated the install is. The hardest part is a spring that must be completely compressed with a vice and then bound with a string or wire and then reinstalled into the mirror assembly. The entire process is way to involved for me to explain here so PM me if you have questions. O and dont bothter calling Seibon, they dont know how to install them either if you can believe that!!!

It's Seibon, unfortunately that is expected much of the time. Lot of their product is actually heavier than the factory part as well; hoods, trunks.... Speaking in regards to other cars, haven't and won't order Seibon for the 370z.

Wow... so many people have Seibon products without complaints. Well the only complaint I'm familiar with is poor fitment on some cars carbon fiber hoods. But havent heard that in the forum yet.
Thanks for the heads up though. I will be more cautious if I make this type of purchase? |

Called the vendor knowing what was going to happen.....nothing. I have seen "one" out of "many" Seibon hood locally that fit well, appeared to be finished well, this is all without looking close up. We get Seibon for the looks and sometimes ventilation, plain and simple. Unless you go with dry carbon, it's "significantly" heavier that many factory hoods/trunks. At least they could make it look perfect if it won't fit perfect. I think when you order Seibon, unfortunately we have lowered our standards since it is so common. Once we see a defect or two, we just deal with it. I myself, won't be getting anything Seibon for my current or future cars.

Just out of curiousity, did you contact them about the fitment? Is it possible you got a badly molded piece?
Granted everyone here is saying this is common for Seibon but I have an Evo R front fang that doesn't fit right, but everyone else has perfect fitment. I just got unlucky I guess, bought it 2nd hand so didn't harass the vendor about it

Seibon doesn't care if your parts don't fit. They might try and give you a free exchange (you pay return shipping), but their **** is all made in China and Taiwan for pennies so it doesn't really cost them anything giving you a replacement.

I recently purchased and installed a Seibon GT-R Style CF Hood. No fitment issues here..

+1 I have the Seibon TS CF hood, bolted right up in 5 mintues, didn't have to adjust anything other than the height of the rubber stoppers by the hood locks. Fit 100% perfect.
