Short driver tips?

So I bought the car of my dreams (for now) thinking that I would just have to adjust the seat a bit to be able to see comfortably out of all the windows. When I took my test drive, everything seemed OK but maybe I was stretching to look a bit and didn't notice. After 2 months of driving with my sweater under my rear as a pseudo seat cushion, I need to find a better alternative. I'd rather not give up my Z since I worked so hard to get it. I've gotten blind spot mirrors to help me out but that damn drivers side mirror blocks my view at intersections. I need a way to boost my seat about an inch to an inch and a half and maybe even something to help me sit further away from the steering wheel. I am 4 ft 10in tall. Feel free to make jokes at my expense if needed!

I think cushions are your best option. Have you already raised your seat? Here's one: http://www.amazon.com/Unknown-Driver...261117&sr=8-10

No jokes here man. I'd look into a proper cushion or whatever is going to work for you to have a proper seat position. Safety before anything else

Yes, I raised the seat as high as I could. I feel really lame sitting on a cushion. I saw someone mention something about being able to raise the seat height with some modification. Can't seem to find a thread though.

I'd recomend going to a reputable machinistand see if he can make you some brackets that bolt to the original mounts and provide new mounts a little higher as well as position the seat where you need it. similar to how wheel spacers/adaptors work.

x3 thats how i would go about it, between the rail and the floor, your going to either create a whole other seat rail that can go under yours or a almost washer(spacer) system for the oem seat rail.

hopefully you can get this sorted so you can really enjoy you dream car!

I was thinking about this last night but a big question is: How safe is it going to be during a wreck? Not that I plan on any, but it's always in the back of my head when driving in traffic. I was leaning more towards adding more cushion to the actual seat. I only need the boost towards the rear of the seat, the front is fine.

Maybe something like this? Not sure how much it would compress though.

AutoSport Microsuede Wedge Cushions - AutoSport Catalog

They have a 180 day return policy if it doesn't work.
