Carbon Fiber Roof wrap and Seibon Hood.. Pics
4 Attachment(s)
Hey Everyone,
After getting the Carbon Fiber Hood, I decided to get CF accents rather than paint the hood and leaving the vents CF. So the first accent had to be the roof wrap. had it done while getting the Invidia exhaust put in. Let me know what you think! |
Looks kinda dull, I like it shiny but to each his own :)
|
lookin good, now just carbon fiber the rear valence! and fangs and that will really compliment/flow together better

Thanks! I think I'm going to leave the fangs the way they are... I saw the 2013 Z, and now I like my fangs even more lol. I'm definitely going to get a CF rear diffuser and a CF Spoiler. Does anyone have suggestions on which spoiler would look good? |
Thing is your cf hood is shiny because of the clear coat but your roof isn't...

I have the same problem :(

I wonder why this is? Is the roof connected to the frame in some way that it can't be replaced? Does that explain the lack of replacement parts? It's one thing to overlay already light weight parts, like a diffuser, but something like a roof or a hood is just way to heavy to have an overlay for.

The roof and rear quarters are part of the shell thus, they need to be cut out to be replaced. I'm probably going to go with a vinyl but every time I'm on the verge I'm turned off for paying for a big sticker so it stays last on the list.

I think you can clear coat it, you just can't take it off once it's clear coated. It's then permenant, just like paint. |
Btw....are those vents on the hood functional?

Not to my taste.. It just doesn't flow. I'm not a fan of dark hoods on light cars either.

I had a carbon fiber roof (pic on my introduction) on my EVO X. This was a full replacement made in house at AMS. Price was 1400, with installs usually running around 900 or so. Not a big market for these. I was the first street EVO X with it, next one didn't come until a year later.
So not enough real buyers to justify it in my opinion. And not substantial weight savings. Headliner, windshield and rear window need to be removed, welds broken. then resealed, riveted and everything else installed again. |
