Need help on damaged front bumper.
Hi everyone. First time making a thread and not sure if its the right place. Mod feel free to move if not.
My black 09's front bumper got about two square foot of damaged area under the passenger headlight. slow speed in a parking lot and my fault:eekdance: mostly clear coat damage. few deep lines went into the paint i think. But one screw inside the bumper poked a coin sized bump towards the outside which i can feel with hand. paint cracked around the bump. I tried to take pitures but doesnt show well. :icon14: What should I do to my bumper? can it be fixed? or the bumper need to be replaced? And how much repair money should i expect it? should i use insurance's money? I have never got any marks on my car before so i need your inputs! Thanks in advance Elric P.S. toyota vans are indestructible...no damage to it at all .not even the paint... |
Sounds like the reinforcement bar poked the bumper from the inside. At my shop we would replace the bumper cover and if there is any damage to the re- bar we would replace that also. There are shops that will fix the bumper and ignore the rebar though. So depending on what you are looking for and what's " good" to you. My shop. E close to a grand the latter shop probably a couple hundred .

My bumber has a slight crack under the drivers side (Curse my snowey driveway!!!)
I asked yesterday about replacement. about 300 ish for the bumper about 300 ish for the install and about 300 ish for the paint (they come unpainted) so all-in-all about a grand for a replacement bumper |

Plastic bumpers are def not repairable due to the fact that the labor to repair would cost more than the replacement.
I'd go through insurance IMO if your deductible is 500 or less. Get a quote first to make sure that you don't get a lower estimate... $700 might be worth to pay out of pocket if you have a $500 deductible for example. |
